Meet Our Behavioral Health Leadership
Carlos F. Cappas, PsyD, MBA
Chief Behavioral Health Officer
Dr. Carlos Cappas leads the Behavioral Health Department at Lynn Community Health Center while also practicing as a clinician in pediatric behavioral health. With years of experience in both clinical care and quality improvement, Dr. Cappas has helped implement integrated behavioral health programs in community health centers and primary care practices across Massachusetts.
Before joining LCHC, he led major integration initiatives at Boston Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Physicians’ Organization and the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership. Today, he continues to expand LCHC’s behavioral health services through operational integration, telehealth innovation, and workforce development—building a strong pipeline of behavioral health professionals dedicated to community-based care.
Dr. Cappas is also a member of the Health Equity Compact, a statewide coalition working to advance health equity and improve health outcomes for underserved populations in Massachusetts. A native of Puerto Rico, he holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University and an MBA from UMass Boston. He also completed a fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology in Primary Care at UMass Chan Medical School.
