Be Part of a Very Special Team
Since 2008, Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC) and the New England College of Optometry (NECO) have worked side by side to bring exceptional vision care to the Lynn community and surrounding areas. What began as a shared mission to make eye care accessible has grown into a nationally recognized program—where high-quality care, education, and equity come together every day.
Whether you’re an optometrist, a technician, or a student in training, you’ll find purpose, support, and opportunity here at LCHC.

Access to quality vision care is life-changing—and at LCHC, it’s part of our commitment to whole-person health. Our optometry team serves nearly 9,000 patients each year, offering services to people of all ages and backgrounds, many of whom face barriers to care elsewhere.
We meet every patient with empathy, cultural humility, and respect.
Our services include:

Our eye care team is close-knit, mission-driven, and passionate about improving lives through better vision. We work hand-in-hand with departments across the health center to provide seamless, coordinated care.
Our optical shop serves as a trusted, affordable neighborhood resource for eyewear—with a wide selection of frames, contact lenses, and specialty glasses. Patients do not need to be LCHC medical patients to access vision care or the optical center.
We welcome walk-ins, self-pay patients, and offer a sliding fee discount for those without insurance.
LCHC is one of NECO’s largest clinical training sites and hosts optometry students at every level of their education:
In 2016, LCHC and NECO launched the Community Health Optometry Residency Program, one of only a handful of optometry residencies based in community health centers nationwide—and one of four in all of New England.
This next-level training prepares early-career doctors to deliver compassionate, equitable care in real-world settings that need them most.
”Residency is a major milestone, and it's relatively rare for a community health center to host one. Only about 3% of health centers in the U.S. even offer eye care—and even fewer have a residency program. What we’re building here is special.
— LCHC Eye Care Leadership Team
Our Eye Care Department is led by a dedicated Clinic Director and supported by excellent operations managers, optometrists, residents, and student clinicians. While small in size, our team delivers a big impact every day—through teamwork, empathy, and clinical excellence.
Join us in providing high-quality, affordable vision care to our community. Whether you’re a seasoned provider or early in your career, you’ll find purpose and support here.
