Joyce Kulhawik, best known as the Emmy Award-Winning Arts and Entertainment Critic for CBS Boston (WBZ-TV 1981-2008), will be honored by Lynn Community Health Center at the “Women for Lynn Community Health Center Recognition Breakfast” on May 16th at the Kernwood Country Club in Salem. The Pink Angels, a local non profit dedicated to the prevention and cure of breast cancer, will also be recognized for their dedication to the prevention and cure of breast cancer.

The North Shore District of the Massachusetts Dental Society awarded LCHC $60,000 to expand it's training program for dental assistants.

Nineteen young people from Lynn were among more than 200 from across Massachusetts who recently converged on the State House to recognize the contributions of teenagers in the fight against tobacco use. Ten of the Lynn participants were from Girls Inc. and the other nine from KAYA, a youth program jointly run by the Lynn Community Health Center and the Lynn YMCA.

Lynn Community Health Center is a resource for those without insurance, but we still need to reach certain populations. Outreach should target adult males and Hispanics.

In February the Swampscott Public Library will once again collect new or barely used children’s books for a local “Reach Out and Read” Program. These books are donated to the Lynn Community Health Center. To make a donation, please bring your children’s books into the library and deposit them in the brightly colored box in the lobby.
