Francisco Espinal Named LCHC’s First DAISY Award Honoree

Francisco Espinal, RN, has been named Lynn Community Health Center’s first-ever DAISY Award Honoree, a special recognition that celebrates nurses whose clinical skill, compassion, and commitment leave a lasting impact on the lives of patients, families, and colleagues.

The DAISY Award is an international program created to recognize the extraordinary work nurses do every day. Through nominations submitted by patients, families, and coworkers, the award honors nurses who consistently demonstrate compassionate care and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve.

For Francisco, that difference can be seen in both the large and small moments that define exceptional nursing care.

Those who nominated him described a nurse who takes the time to truly listen, who helps patients navigate challenges beyond their immediate medical needs, and who approaches every interaction with patience, empathy, and respect. Whether supporting patients during community-based visits, helping connect them with critical resources, or following up after an appointment to ensure concerns are addressed, Francisco is known for making people feel heard, valued, and cared for.

His colleagues also noted his willingness to step in whenever help is needed. Francisco is the kind of teammate who supports fellow staff members, shares his knowledge, and works collaboratively to ensure patients receive the best possible care. His commitment to whole-person care extends beyond individual patient encounters and helps strengthen the entire care team.

“Francisco embodies what nursing is all about,” said Aisha Abubakar, Associate Chief Nursing Officer. “He combines clinical excellence with genuine compassion, treating every patient with dignity and respect. The stories shared through his nomination reflect what so many of us see every day: his unwavering commitment to caring for others and his dedication to meeting patients where they are. We are incredibly proud to recognize him as our first DAISY Award honoree.”

The award is especially meaningful because it is driven by the experiences of those who work alongside nurses and those who receive their care. The nominations submitted for Francisco painted a consistent picture of someone who goes beyond expectations, building trust with patients and serving as a role model for colleagues.

As Lynn Community Health Center continues to expand access to high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the community, nurses remain at the heart of that mission. Their expertise, compassion, and advocacy help patients navigate some of life’s most challenging moments and contribute to healthier outcomes for individuals and families alike.

“At Lynn Community Health Center, we are fortunate to have so many dedicated nurses who bring compassion and excellence to their work every day,” said Brenda Rodriguez, CEO. “Francisco’s recognition as our first DAISY Award honoree is a celebration not only of his extraordinary contributions, but also of the profound impact nurses have on the health and well-being of our community. We are honored to recognize his service and grateful for the care he provides to our patients each day.”

Please join us in congratulating Francisco Espinal on this well-deserved recognition and in thanking all of the nurses whose dedication, expertise, and compassion make a difference every day.

Congratulations, Francisco, and thank you for all you do.
