Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC) recently had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Navid Mahooti, MD, MPH, Sports Medicine specialist with Mass General Hospital, for an onsite education session on Therapeutic Needling for Muscle Pain and Myofascial Trigger Points. During the session, Dr. Mahooti shared valuable insights on non-surgical approaches to orthopedic and sports-related injuries, including advanced ultrasound-guided procedures and minimally invasive therapies. His expertise gave our providers the opportunity to expand their knowledge in innovative, evidence-based techniques that can benefit patients experiencing muscle pain and related conditions.

We extend a special thank you to Dr. Mahooti for leading this session, and to our volunteers, Augustina Egbuiwe and Dr. Elizabeth Quinn, who stepped up as test patients so our team could gain hands-on experience.

Learning from specialists like Dr. Mahooti helps strengthen the care we provide in Primary Care every day. For many patients, their Primary Care provider is the person they turn to first when they have a question about their health. Whether it is a routine check-up, a preventive screening, or managing a chronic condition, our providers are here to listen, guide, and support patients through each step of their health journey.

Our Primary Care team also connects patients with specialists when needed, ensuring care is coordinated and accessible. We offer programs for individuals living with diabetes, hypertension, asthma, chronic pain, and other conditions, while also focusing on prevention and overall wellness. From infants to older adults, our providers care for families at every stage of life, helping patients stay healthy and feel their best.

By combining ongoing learning with patient-centered care, LCHC continues to build strong relationships that put community health first.
